About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the operations of a specific hatchery by monitoring the day-to-day activities as well as formulating strategies for future improvement. This includes completing the chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts. It also involves keeping logs on each truck consisting of miles and hours worked by each driver, and ensuring the movement of chicks to farms according to the shipment schedule. The role requires monitoring incubation and hatchery equipment, as well as environmental control equipment, and overseeing chick delivery and pick-up. Additionally, the position involves supervising personnel on a daily basis, grading fleets of eggs from hen farms, preparing vaccines to be given to the chickens, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. Any other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • Requires education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses.
  • 2 years experience in poultry, with live receiving or hatchery experience preferred.
  • Basic Computer skills. Must be able to read and generate spread sheets and review reports.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.
