About The Position

As a Sawmill Supervisor, you will lead the team responsible for daily operations in the log yard/merch, sawmill, and filing room. You’ll set the tone for safety, drive production performance, and support a culture where people work hard, work smart, and look out for one another.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of supervisory and leadership experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years of wood processing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and safety protocols
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work nights or weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test, post-offer physical, and background check

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures, and SOPs
  • Experience with 5S methodology or Lean Six Sigma methodology
  • Experience with QC/QA programs
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Safety — Model safe work practices, ensure compliance with JSAs, and respond proactively to hazards and incidents.
  • Guide Daily Operations — Oversee production, quality, scheduling, and inventory to keep the mill running efficiently.
  • Develop and Support Your Team — Train, coach, evaluate, and mentor employees; help new hires understand IFG’s expectations and culture.
  • Partner Across Departments — Work closely with QC and maintenance to identify issues, plan repairs, and improve processes utilizing AI technologies
  • Drive Continuous Improvement — Analyze up-time, identify opportunities, and support long-term operational improvements.
  • Ensure Accurate Administration — Review and approve timecards and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support Production & Budget Goals — Align daily operations with department targets and sales needs.
