About The Position

As a Formulations Supervisor you will oversee staff activities in the Formulations laboratory areas, mentor junior staff in the formulation areas, ensuring training documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including administering any proficiency testing identified by department management. Ensure staff is available to meet study schedules, ensure accuracy and integrity of formulation data generated in the department. Serve as a technical liaison in writing and reviewing SOP's associated with Formulations (FM) department.

Requirements

BA or BS in a scientific discipline.
3-5 years experience working in a FDA regulated environment.
3-5 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and protocols.
Ability to instruct others on day to day activities.
Solid reasoning ability.

Responsibilities

Supervise (or perform as necessary) dose preparation and dispensing of test and control article materials.
Ensure appropriate review of data is completed in a timely manner.
Supervise (or perform as necessary) accountability and reconciliation of test and control articles and ensure activity is completed in a timely manner.
Review and ensure all formulation staff have completed training records before allowing staff to work independently.
Ensure that appropriate staff has been assigned to formulation studies.
Check for integrity and accuracy of data generated by Test Article formulation staff.
Coordinate and ensure the validation/calibration status of formulation equipment with test article equipment representatives.
Address audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure the proper storage and handling of test and control material.
Maintain the storage of test and control materials in an organized fashion.
Assist in budget preparation and work quotes.
Attend Protocol review meetings as appropriate.
Ensure appropriate repairs to equipment are completed in a timely manner.
Train Scientific Services staff in drawing up syringes, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
