About The Position

This leader will be responsible for developing business case and decision criteria for Ford Racing Niche Programs and customization efforts. This is an opportunity to get in at the very start of a new area of focus within Ford Motor Company and specifically for Ford Racing. This position will be directly involved with the pinnacle products in Ford’s portfolio. This opportunity will have significant visibility with Ford senior leaders and potentially with new or existing outside partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • Customer insight into preferences for high-end products and customization
  • Track record of high business acumen with ability to assess viability of competing proposals to determine where investments should be made to maximize profits from a manufacturing facility
  • Self starter, highly motivated for success
  • Passion for winning that will not accept excuses for failure
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and general problem-solving; ability to find a path through uncharted territory

Responsibilities

  • Developing a portfolio of low volume niche projects and supporting business cases with the goals of maximizing profitability of Ford Racing, developing in-house capability to deliver highly custom products for customers, and growing the Ford Racing brand.
  • Designing the principles to determine which programs / business opportunities should be pursued within the overall project.
  • Identifying additional functions / capabilities that must be in-sourced to stand up the model, choices to make, and recommendations.
  • Conducting full in-source/out-source assessments in conjunction with the manufacturing team, including assessments of specialty skills or technologies as well as business case comparison.
