The Food Service Supervisor plans, coordinates, directs and controls, under direction of the director, all activities related to the food production and retail programs. Assumes authority and responsibilities during Food Service Director and Manager absence.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • One to three years’ supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise food and nutrition team and assist with training, mentoring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Oversee tray line operations, dining room service, meal delivery and retail service to ensure timely and high-quality service
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection control practices, and facility policies
  • Monitor food, beverage, and equipment temperatures and address any variances promptly
  • Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, audits, and departmental documentation
  • Ensure proper food storage, quality control, and safe equipment operation
  • Support orientation and development of newly hired staff members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned
  • Performs all other related duties.
