About The Position

The Flight Training Supervisor's primary responsibility is to develop and lead a world-class flight training branch at Cirrus. With an emphasis on quality flight training, world-class customer service, flight safety, and standardization, the Supervisor will be responsible for establishing and leading a team of highly capable flight instructors. The Flight Training Supervisor will report to the Director of Flight Operations and will assist in the Supervising of flight instructors and will assist the flight training manager with overseeing their assigned program. Flight training, relevant flight instruction, and pilot experience are required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of recent flight training & operations (military, Part 142/141, or standardized 61), incl. Experience mentoring, coordinating, or informally leading other instructors/pilots of a combination or flight training & operations and equivalent leadership experience.
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor w/ Instrument (CFII)
  • FAA 1st or 2nd class medical
  • Resent teaching experience in aircraft
  • 1,000 total hours of total flight time
  • 750 hours dual instruction given
  • Flight experience in IFR, congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, and night experience
  • Strong management, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively work with other departments and outside vendors
  • Willingness to travel as necessary in support of Cirrus Aircraft's Flight Operations Department

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in a Cirrus SR or SF model aircraft
  • Recent teaching experience in advanced General Aviation Glass Cockpit
  • 1,500 hours of total flight time
  • 1,000 hours dual instruction given
  • 500 hours CSIP
  • Ability to effectively work with other departments and outside vendors

Responsibilities

  • Establish, guide, and empower a team of flight instructors to meet departmental goals: Driving an environment of constant improvement, exemplary customer service, flexibility in resolving new problems, and uniting a team to achieve set goals and deliverables in accordance with Cirrus Aircraft's core values and mission statement.
  • Manage and oversee assigned training operations for the assigned location, ensuring the smooth day-to-day execution of all missions.
  • Effectively work with other Cirrus Aircraft departments to meet and surpass customer expectations and department and company goals and objectives.
  • Resolve flight training challenges and/or escalate to the Director of Flight Operations or another applicable leader as necessary.
  • Ensure operations are in compliance with the Flight Operations Manual, FAA regulations, and guidance from the Chief Pilot.
  • Act as pilot in command and flight instructor in Cirrus aircraft in accordance with Cirrus Aircraft's Flight Operations Manual and applicable regulations.
