Supervisor Financial Counseling
About The Position
The Financial Counseling Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational work and supervision of the Patient Financial Advocates and Patient Billing Resolution Specialist teams. Creates and inspires a team environment by developing high performing and engaged staff. This individual must have the ability to travel to care sites and clinics within, and across state lines. Is a subject matter expert and point of escalation to remove barriers, meet KPI’s and the successful achievement of department and organizational goals. This position is over 3 care sites and will need to travel to Miles City and Butte occasionally. Over-Night stay may be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years previous experience in a Lead or Supervisory role
- Previous experience in healthcare, financial counseling or equivalent
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) Certification within 60 Days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Associate/Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Two (2) or more years' supervisory experience with Financial Counseling or equivalent
- Knowledge of Epic
- Bilingual – Spanish speaking
Responsibilities
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the financial counseling department.
- Supervision of personnel, participating in employee and patient relations and quality management.
- Acts as an extension for identified HR support functions.
- Leads team huddles and monthly check-ins.
- Completes annual performance reviews.
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met for quality, compliance and schedule adherence.
- Coordinates works activities with other supervisors and managers within and other departments.
- Identifies and resolves areas of opportunities using defined processes, expertise and judgment.
- Provides coaching and feedback to team members.
- Promotes support through an environment of teamwork and patient centered care.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization in addressing patient’s coverage and financial health needs, communicating progress and outcomes as necessary.
- Promote, support, and track established KPIs, for department and organization.
- Commitment to process improvement and streamlining workflows in response to healthcare and regulatory updates.
- Ability to travel to care sites and clinics within and across state lines, with overnight stays
- Performs other duties as assigned
