About The Position

The Financial Counseling Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational work and supervision of the Patient Financial Advocates and Patient Billing Resolution Specialist teams. Creates and inspires a team environment by developing high performing and engaged staff. This individual must have the ability to travel to care sites and clinics within, and across state lines. Is a subject matter expert and point of escalation to remove barriers, meet KPI’s and the successful achievement of department and organizational goals. This position is over 3 care sites and will need to travel to Miles City and Butte occasionally. Over-Night stay may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years previous experience in a Lead or Supervisory role
  • Previous experience in healthcare, financial counseling or equivalent
  • Certified Application Counselor (CAC) Certification within 60 Days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate/Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) or more years' supervisory experience with Financial Counseling or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Epic
  • Bilingual – Spanish speaking

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the financial counseling department.
  • Supervision of personnel, participating in employee and patient relations and quality management.
  • Acts as an extension for identified HR support functions.
  • Leads team huddles and monthly check-ins.
  • Completes annual performance reviews.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met for quality, compliance and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinates works activities with other supervisors and managers within and other departments.
  • Identifies and resolves areas of opportunities using defined processes, expertise and judgment.
  • Provides coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Promotes support through an environment of teamwork and patient centered care.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization in addressing patient’s coverage and financial health needs, communicating progress and outcomes as necessary.
  • Promote, support, and track established KPIs, for department and organization.
  • Commitment to process improvement and streamlining workflows in response to healthcare and regulatory updates.
  • Ability to travel to care sites and clinics within and across state lines, with overnight stays
  • Performs other duties as assigned
