About The Position

The Supervisor of Facilities Monitor and Response supervises the 24/7 Facilities Monitoring and Response (FMR) team, overseeing facility operations related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, elevators, and other critical systems. Responsible for staff supervision, scheduling, training, SOP development, incident response, recordkeeping, and coordination with multiple facilities departments. Manages monitoring activities through BAS and LiftNet systems, oversees maintenance and compliance for water treatment and critical equipment, maintains operational logs, ensures after-hours response readiness, and leads departmental HR functions including hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Skilled with MS Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Fundamental knowledge of building automation systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to do basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• First Grade Stationary Engineer License by Houston Permitting Center required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 5 years required
• Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the 24/7 schedule for Facilities Monitoring and Response (FMR), overseeing all aspects of supervision, including time approval, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintains standard operating procedure (SOP) documents for FMR/Work Control, providing containing instructions and guidance for common responsibilities.
• Supervises the monitoring of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems using the Building Automation System (BAS) and oversees elevator systems via LiftNet.
• Prioritizes screen and stem monitoring, conducts training for employees on monitoring responsibilities, and reports all deficiencies through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or other necessary means.
• Supervises maintenance for all facility water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, designated boilers, closed water loops, and critical equipment as directed.
• Responsibilities include logging, coordinating service calls, scheduling annual PMs, and conducting internal water quality testing.
• Maintains daily activity logs for FMR, campus reverse osmosis water usage and equipment availability (MRE) logs.
• Responsible for overseeing the tracking of MRE and emergency supply logs.
• Prepares the FMR desk for time reporting calls and ensures readiness for after-hours calls, including the answering service, CLAMC, EH&S, and support for elevator and fire alarm/panels when needed.
• Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
