About The Position

At SpaceX, we are building the next generation of space infrastructure to enable large-scale AI data centers in orbit. These platforms demand massive amounts of reliable, high-efficiency solar power. To deliver it, we are standing up one of the largest solar cell manufacturing facilities in the world. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to own the reliability of the central utility plant, gas farm, chemical systems, HVAC, power, and wastewater infrastructure that keep high-volume production running. This role leads the maintenance teams that prevent downtime, drive root-cause fixes, and ensure the factory systems supporting SpaceX’s orbital AI vision stay online.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification; OR 3+ years of experience in facilities/utilities maintenance
  • 2+ years hands-on with central utility plants, industrial HVAC, gas/chemical systems, or high-volume manufacturing facilities maintenance
  • 1+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related STEM field
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms, predictive maintenance tools (vibration, thermography, oil analysis), and reliability-centered maintenance practices
  • Direct experience maintaining central utility plants, industrial HVAC, high-purity gas/chemical distribution, or wastewater systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in semiconductor, solar cell, or cleanroom facilities maintenance
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, service contracts, and maintenance budgets
  • Proven track record improving equipment uptime, reducing MTTR, and driving continuous improvement (Six Sigma, Lean, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead shift maintenance of central utility plant, gas farm, chemical systems, HVAC, power, plumbing, exhaust, and wastewater treatment
  • Own preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Troubleshoot and drive root-cause resolution on facility equipment failures
  • Manage CMMS work orders, spare parts, and technician execution in a high-reliability environment
  • Coach and develop facilities maintenance technicians/specialists
  • Partner with Production, Machine Maintenance, and EHS on system reliability and expansion support
  • Track maintenance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, uptime, cost) and report to Facilities leadership
  • Enforce safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, NFPA), and continuous improvement
