About The Position

The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and preventive maintenance of production equipment and systems per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a scientific, technical, manufacturing, business, engineering, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; OR a minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory experience in pharmaceutical operations in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be able to be gown qualified for entry into the APA and maintain qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of all facility equipment including HVAC, plant utilities, manufacturing support equipment and systems.
  • Schedule and monitor the performance of Maintenance Mechanics and outside maintenance contractors.
  • Identify and coordinate outside vendors and contractors; research, identify, approve and purchase new parts and equipment to support production, based on need and budget approvals.
  • Compose new or revised departmental SOPs as required when processes require updating or to improve efficiency.
  • Investigate all observations made during customer, safety or quality audits and report corrective actions taken; investigate ER /QARs and complete required reporting.
  • Ensure all Preventive Maintenance (PMS) and Predictive Maintenance (PdMs) are completed in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to be gown qualified for entry into the APA and maintain qualification.
  • Coordinate personnel activities of maintenance staff i.e., vacations, doctor visits, etc. to ensure there is appropriate maintenance coverage.
  • Address personnel issues with the assistance of the Maintenance Manager and Human Resources as they arise.
  • Assist in training new mechanics and supervisors.
  • Conduct department and/or shift meetings with employees frequently to communicate company information, audit updates, production schedule updates, daily safety talks, etc.
