MercyOne Clinton has a staff of more than 800 employees, making it one of the community’s largest employers. Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Supervisor - Environmental Services. As a Supervisor of Environmental Services at MercyOne, you are responsible for providing effective leadership, guidance and supervision of the daily functions of Environmental Services. The Supervisor plans, assigns and monitors colleague work performance in order to achieve efficient and effective departmental operations. Assists the Director with development and implementation of policies and procedures that facilitate daily operations, safety and cleanliness and are in accordance with all applicable Mercy Medical Center policies and procedures, Joint Commission (TJC) standards, state and federal laws and regulations. Responsible for staff scheduling, performance evaluations, training programs and assists with the disciplinary process.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience of 3-5 years in environmental services/housekeeping including 1-2 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of proper and safe chemical use and handling.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
  • Demonstrates general working knowledge of computers and department specific software helpful. (i.e. HealthStream, Word, Excel, Outlook; internet/intranet). Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Formalized training in environmental cleaning programs and safety methodology preferred.
  • Hospital setting preferred for previous experience.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Department specific software helpful. (i.e. HealthStream, Word, Excel, Outlook; internet/intranet).
