About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Full-time Supervisor, Environmental Services. This role involves assisting the manager in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and controlling departmental functions to maintain a clean and safe working environment. The position requires participation in work activities of assigned teams by providing assistance, serving as a technical resource, and working as a team member. The Supervisor contributes to departmental success through effective work coordination, resource management, and goal accomplishment, while supporting and communicating Sentara's mission, values, goals, and directions to team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• 1 Year Supervisory Experience (Required)
• CHEST certification required for all existing staff by 7/31/2019. New employees hired after 8/1/2016 required to have CHEST within 2 years of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Some College is preferred.
• 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
• 2 Years Supervisory Experience (Strongly Preferred)
• Environmental/Service Associate/Hospitality Experience (Preferred)
• Microsoft Office Skills (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assists the manager in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating and controlling the activities of the department functions which are necessary to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participates in the work activities of assigned teams through providing assistance, serving as technical resource and participating in the work as a member of the team.
• Contributes to the success of the department through effective work coordination, management of resources, and participation in goal accomplishment.
• Supports and communicates Sentara mission, values, goals, and directions to assigned team members.
