This role leads and coordinates the Environmental Services department which provides services for Allina Health facilities, which accommodate between 220 beds – 700 beds. This position oversees and manages a 1.5-million-dollar labor budget, ensuring efficient use of resource utilization and strict adherence to financial guidelines. Additionally, will handle significant logistics managing between 800,000 lbs. – 3.7 million lbs. of linen annually.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2+ years of housekeeping experience
  • 3+ years of experience in supervising staff, preferably in a health care setting

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of 30 direct reports across various shifts maintaining a high performance in a unionized setting.
  • Optimizes employee scheduling, adjust shifts as needed and manage EPIC workflows to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Coordinates hospital EPIC planning in partnership with nursing and hospital leadership, ensuring alignment with overall hospital strategies.
  • Drives process improvement and project management initiatives, including system-wide linen reduction efforts.
  • Leads evaluations and trials of new products, such as chemicals and equipment, ensuring they meet the department’s needs and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborates with infection prevention teams to ensure strict compliance with environmental audit standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
