As a Supervisor, Environmental Services, you will oversee the daily operations of the environmental services team, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Every day you will manage and mentor EVS staff, assign tasks, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with cleaning protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and thorough knowledge of environmental services best practices, crucial for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and supporting a healthy facility.
Requirements
- High School Graduate General Studies
- 3 Years in Environmental Services Experience
- Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery
Nice To Haves
- 1 Year in supervisory level experience in supervising staff
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Tech
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the environmental services team, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
- Manage and mentor EVS staff, assign tasks, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with cleaning protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.
- Provide one-on-one training and development of EVS staff.
- Supervise the necessary resources needed for the Environmental Services department under their control and make recommendations to hiring, promoting and annual staff performance reviews.
- Supervise a waste program that separates, packages and disposes of all waste according to all regulations.
- Perform quality improvement initiatives under direction of EVS manager/director.
- Conduct rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned.
- Prepare necessary reporting to manager(s) and document results.
- Conduct ES Survey required reports (e.g., Standard work audits, Direct Observations, Fluorescent Marker, Clean Trace ATP).
- Supervise the bed tracking system and ensure EVS response times are achieved.
- Prepare reports to document results, collaborating with the EVS manager to develop improvement activities.
