About The Position

This role provides leadership to a team or teams focused on the management and delivery of maintenance execution activities (executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the hoisting, shafts, and underground mining environment). The role is based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK, with a 7x7 work schedule (rotating days and nights). BHP offers relocation assistance and onsite camp accommodation.

Requirements

  • Saskatchewan Journeyperson in Electrical or Instrumentation
  • Red Seal Certification
  • Mine Supervisor Certification
  • Certified Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and overseeing projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining strong relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in potash mining

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe, quality work execution of trades and contractors
  • Drive business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance
  • Plan, schedule, execute and review maintenance work orders and activities to maximize efficient production across BHP
  • Prepare for and execute maintenance activities, carry out post execution tasks and eliminate defects to facilitate reliable and efficient maintenance operations across BHP
  • Control contamination across the organization through structured and disciplined handling, storage and disposal of consumables and contaminants
  • Define shutdown objectives, scope and schedules, mobiles shutdown resources, and executes shutdown activities to safeguard production and maintain the safety of maintenance operations at BHP
  • Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy
  • Identify and assess risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Support the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximize operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk
