About The Position

Eversource is seeking a Supervisor to lead efforts in the construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems. This role involves ensuring safe, timely, and efficient work completion, effective coordination between individuals and departments, and promoting a strong safety culture. The Supervisor will engage and motivate employees to provide excellent customer service and enhance New England’s energy delivery system, supporting a Clean Energy Future. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures for the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at both secondary and primary operating voltages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology, with the ability to learn and utilize available information technologies.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Five to ten years of related experience is required.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Must be able to manage multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate job and safety related information to employees and effectively address performance issues constructively.
  • Must be able to respond to problem situations in a timely manner at all hours.
  • Must be able to relate to customers and the general public under stressful circumstances and for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in electric distribution is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.
  • D.O.T. Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safe execution of field activities and setting safety expectations with employees.
  • Resolves safety issues/concerns in an appropriate and timely manner and promotes continuous learning of safe work methods.
  • Makes decisions and prioritizes work to ensure the safe and appropriate use of assigned resources.
  • Sets clear expectations, provides ongoing feedback, and effectively addresses performance issues, including conducting performance reviews.
  • Responsible for the proper application of local union contracts and agreements, and resolving grievances.
  • Participates in pre-construction reviews and coordinates work with other utilities, departments, and outside contractors.
  • Ensures work is completed within budgetary guidelines and approves time, expense, materials, and other company records accurately.
  • Demonstrates a customer-first attitude and collaborates to resolve customer issues.
  • Fulfills storm duty assignments and participates in on-call rotation.
  • For Inside Supervisor role: Continuously monitors the work planning process, serves as the primary construction liaison, ensures job packages are construction ready and material availability is adequate, coordinates external agencies and internal support, supports the scheduler, works closely with Outside Supervisors on emergent issues, and prepares status reports.
