About The Position

Eversource is seeking a Supervisor to lead efforts in the safe, timely, and efficient completion of work related to the construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems. This role involves ensuring effective coordination, promoting a safety-first culture, and motivating employees to provide excellent customer service. The position is available in multiple locations and requires shift work. Eversource is committed to a clean energy future and is investing in its electric system to support renewable energy integration, electric vehicles, and energy storage technologies.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures for the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at both secondary and primary operating voltages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology, with the ability to learn and utilize information technologies.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Five to ten years of related experience required.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Must be available for shift work, including weekends.
  • Off-hour on-call responsibility is required on a rotational basis.
  • Requires being able to manage multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Requires being able to effectively relate to customers and the general-public under stressful circumstances and for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate job and safety related information to employees and effectively address performance issues constructively.
  • Requires being able to respond to problem situations in a timely manner at all hours of the day or night.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in electric distribution is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.
  • D.O.T. Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safe execution of field activities and setting safety expectations with employees.
  • Resolves safety issues/concerns in an appropriate and timely manner and communicates safety lessons learned.
  • Makes decisions and prioritizes work to ensure the safe and appropriate use of assigned resources.
  • Sets clear expectations, provides ongoing feedback, and addresses performance issues, including conducting performance reviews.
  • Responsible for the proper application of local union contracts and agreements, and resolving grievances.
  • Participates in pre-construction reviews and coordinates work with other utilities, departments, and contractors.
  • Ensures work is completed within budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves time, expense, materials, and other company records accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrates and role models a customer-first attitude, resolving customer issues collaboratively.
  • Fulfills storm duty assignments and participates in on-call rotation as required.
