About The Position

The Nutritional Services Supervisor supports the manager to ensure the preparation of food for patient, staff and visitor meals occurs in a timely and compliant manner. The employee must: Assist in menu development for Dietary Services; Ensure food is prepared according to established recipes; Monitor tracking of foods by logs and marked open and expiration dates; Monitor food storage following established benchmarks; Maintain cooking equipment; Monitor ware washing processes to ensure safety standards are met; and Keep preparation areas clean and organized. The Nutritional Services Supervisor must be able to support cash register functions, take orders, and deliver Café and patient meals in an efficient and friendly manner. The employee must also: Ensure the maintenance of sanitary conditions for all tableware, pots, pans, steam lines, ovens, and other dietary equipment; Ensure patient trays are set-up attractively, conveniently and correctly, in compliance with Sanitary Code (and other set-ups for hospital functions); and Ensure that all staff duties are completed on schedule. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Kitchen experience is required.
  • Supervisory experience relevant to the position.
  • Knowledge of hospital inventory and food storage requirements relevant to the position.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) is required and if not certified must be successfully completed within 6 months of hire date.
  • ServSafe food handler certification is required and if not certified must be successfully completed within 6 months of hire date.
  • Colorado Food Handlers Card is required.
  • Current AHA BLS certification for Heart Saver is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, electronic health record).
  • Demonstrates ability to read, write, and clearly express one’s self in English 100% of the time.
  • Demonstrates ability to listen.
  • Demonstrates ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken work, to impart oral information to others or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
