About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation and administration of the sanitation program. This position is also responsible for training and supervising sanitation personnel. The schedule for this role is the 1st Shift, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The Supervisor directly supervises employees in the Sanitation Department and is responsible for overseeing all facets of the cleaning and sanitation process for the entire processing plant efficiently and within budgetary constraints. This role involves keeping the manager informed on operation activities, employee activities, quality, safety, and cost controls, as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. The Supervisor is expected to encourage suggestions from employees that will improve production, quality, safety, and/or cost controls. A key responsibility is providing complete training for all employees on proper sanitation and safety procedures. Additionally, the Supervisor must resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Requirements

  • High School or GED - Required
  • 3 years or more in Sanitization, Engineering, Waste Management, or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • This position requires successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
