About The Position

The Supervisor, Corrosion Control is responsible for supervising, training, and appraising corrosion control technicians and contractors, coordinate their work with construction and operating personnel, and other Company requirements. This position is also responsible for maintaining all compliance records, maps, and documents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five or more years relevant experience (e.g., journeyman in gas distribution, construction or maintenance, planning, project management, corrosion control, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems) required.
  • NACE CP1 certification required, or must obtain NACE CP1 certification within two years of start date in position.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel);
  • Ability to learn and use Ameren's Gas Compliance System and associated hardware;
  • Basic understanding of electricity;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data;
  • Understanding of the science and technology behind corrosion failure modes;
  • Understanding of the science and technology for control of internal or external pipeline corrosion;

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct supervision of Corrosion Control Technicians, Cathodic Protection Specialists, review of corrosion control records, performing pipe examinations, and assisting with troubleshooting problems to assure safe, efficient, and effective gas cathodic protection systems.
  • Supervise contractors on required surveys or other cathodic protection activities.
  • Review and maintain corrosion control and compliance records, and maps for assigned regions.
  • Perform cathodic protection surveys and pipe examinations as required.
  • Supervise installation, maintenance, and operation of cathodic protection equipment and facilities including rectifiers, remote monitoring equipment, and other cathodic protection facilities.
  • Initiate cathodic protection surveys, specialized surveys and assessments as needed.
  • Initiate, track, and report on corrective action required for cathodic protection systems.
  • Monitor budget for corrosion control activities, assist in planning and execution of Department gas budgets.
  • Provide technical support to other gas engineering and operating groups including Divisions, Technical Services, Engineering Representatives, Energy Services Specialists, Gas Supervisors, other departments, customers and other organizations as required.
