About The Position

Position Summary: The PM Supervisor manages the technical and operational accuracy of laboratory testing during the PM and Graveyard shifts. The Supervisor act as a bridge between daytime management and overnight staff, providing hands-on testing, staff supervision, quality control oversight and troubleshooting. Duties:  1. Manage the daily afternoon and graveyard operations, assigning tasks to laboratory personnel and ensuring proper coverage of the two shifts. 2. Perform complex and routine tests, serving as a back-up analyst when workloads are high or staff is limited. 3. Monitor and review lab test results for accuracy, and maintain quality control standards. 4. Resolve complex technical issues with laboratory instrumentation and ensure proper calibration and quality control acceptable results. 5. Monitor quality control performance, ensure qc results are within range and troubleshoot out-of-control qc results. 6. Train, mentor and evaluate staff performance, including scheduling staff for PM and GY shifts and providing coverage for staff shortage. 7. Manage inventory of lab supplies, check reagents and order replacements. 8. Ensure compliance with safety protocols (OSHA) and maintain accurate documentation for audits.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of laboratory experience
  • Critical analysis and complex problem solving
  • Ability to perform complex laboratory tasks
  • Computer and LIS proficient
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory and licensure requirements and ensures compliance with regulations
  • Demonstrates competency in principles of performance improvement
  • Exercises accuracy and precision in completion of prescribed tasks
  • CLS License (CDPH/ASCP)
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of hire)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) required (within 30 days of hire
