About The Position

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, a new health system formed by the partnership of Virginia Mason and CHI Franciscan Health, is seeking a full-time Supervisor, Clinic Nurse, RN for its Franciscan Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic in Tacoma, WA. This role involves overseeing daily clinical operations across five locations (Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Federal Way, and Burien), managing a diverse team including RNs, Medical Assistants, and Perinatal Sonographers. The supervisor will support RNs in managing urgent care needs for diabetic patients, assist MAs with clinical workflow and provider support, and support perinatal sonographers in diagnostic imaging. This is a salaried, Monday through Friday position with no evenings, nights, or weekends. The role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in partnership with the Clinic Manager, focusing on patient-centered care, teamwork, and excellence. The supervisor will inspire and lead the clinical team, maintain oversight of regulatory compliance, staffing, and fiscal health, and advocate for the team by translating insights into actionable strategies. The ideal candidate will possess confident leadership, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach, valuing listening to their team and partnering for improved patient experiences. They should be a team player willing to understand staff challenges and adept at managing a high-energy, multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of Registered Nursing approved by the WA State Board of Nursing required.
  • Current WA State license as RN required.
  • Must have a current CPR certification or must be certified within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous supervisory/lead experience preferred.
  • Within the last five- (5) years, three- (3) years of nursing experience in a clinic setting or five- (5) years of acute hospital nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical operations across five locations.
  • Manage a diverse team of RNs, Medical Assistants, and Perinatal Sonographers.
  • Help the RN team manage urgent care needs for diabetic patients.
  • Assist with clinical workflow and provider support for Medical Assistants.
  • Support perinatal sonographers in providing high-level diagnostic imaging.
  • Inspire and lead a dedicated clinical team to prioritize patient needs.
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of regulatory compliance, staffing, and fiscal health.
  • Advocate for the team, translating their insights into actionable strategies.
  • Lead a complex, sonographer-heavy clinical staffing model across five sites, focusing on optimal coverage and managing multidisciplinary team dynamics.
  • Manage day-to-day clinic (back office) operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and clinical evaluation for staff, ensuring competencies are met across all five sites.
  • Ensure exceptional care delivery and act as a resource for complex patient care concerns.
  • Work closely with the Clinic Manager and Director of Operations to maintain budget neutrality and support growth.
