About The Position

Under the direction of the CAC Assistant Manager, oversees the day-to-day operations of a high quality, efficient, culturally competent, family-centered multidisciplinary team of up to 12 staff, providing specialized medical and psychosocial assessment services, child advocacy and mental health treatment services, in cases of child abuse and neglect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university with major emphasis on social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, child development, or nursing.
  • Four (4) years’ experience working with children and families, to include two (2) years of child abuse assessment.
  • An MSW may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of child physical abuse, family dynamics, domestic violence, substance abuse, child sexual abuse, sexual predator typologies, Chapter 39 of Florida Statutes, Dependency Court, mental illness, child neglect, and medical neglect.
  • Must be knowledgeable of standard computer office software, including word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training and performance management, including coaching plans and discipline, of case coordinators, child advocates and mental health counselors of the Children’s Advocacy Center, with support from the CAC Psychosocial Clinical Team Leader and oversight from the CAC Assistant Manager.
  • Provides day-to-day staff supervision for all direct reports.
  • Ensures the integrity and seamless delivery of multidisciplinary services – from intake, to assessment, family support and treatment – for all children served by direct reports.
  • Supervises the administration of an on-call system ensuring 24/7 availability of multidisciplinary staff to handle incoming cases.
  • Facilitates the peer review process.
  • Facilitates multi-disciplinary staffings. Staffs cases, serves supervisory consultant on-call, and reviews/closes files to ensure risk is properly assessed and documentation is thorough and complete.
  • Works with the Healing Tree Clinical Supervisor to staff treatment issues and ensure that mental health services – crisis and long term - are appropriately provided to clients based on need.
  • Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the team’s cooperative working relationship with area hospitals, community agencies, and individuals.
  • Accurately and completely documents all case activity so that patient safety and the integrity of the team’s work is ensured.
  • Conducts CAN trainings.
