About The Position

The Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sterile processing department, ensuring the proper decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment for all performing departments in the hospital system. Oversees and coordinates compliance of regulatory agency standards, and team member competency for job related responsibilities. Acts as a liaison between hospital services and medical staff to ensure timely delivery for services. Administers and/or establishes hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Collects, generates, analyzes and distributes statistical reports as required. Assist with the quality monitoring and performance improvement activities of the Central Sterile department. Assists with management of monthly departmental expenses, productivity, and time and attendance. Encourages the professional growth of subordinates. Develop work schedules and assign duties to maintain departmental workflow. Coaches and counsels TMs relative to performance, conduct, attendance and adherence to departmental and hospital rules and regulations. Assists with hiring and onboarding of new employees to ensure competency and training levels are obtained based on the roles and responsibilities. Performs any other duties requested by Manager of Central Sterile Processing and Director of Perioperative Services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in central sterile processing.
  • Ability to supervise staff in a manner conducive to professional growth and patient care.
  • Exhibit a high degree of confidence and professionalism.
  • Ability to interact well with physicians and other care givers.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing healthcare environment.
  • Certified Central Sterile Processing through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
