About The Position

The Supervisor of Cabin Engineering is an essential leadership role within the Airbus Cabin business line and the Airbus Americas Engineering team in Mobile, Alabama. Reporting to the Manager, Cabin Engineering, this role focuses on the direct leadership and technical guidance of an engineering team to ensure the execution of activities related to the on-time, on-cost, and on-quality delivery of design and certification documentation. The Supervisor works closely with internal stakeholders in programs, the Final Assembly Line (FAL), and transnational engineering teams, as well as external suppliers and subcontractors. Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 15 years experience within the aviation industry.
  • 5 years of Technical Leadership Experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to understand and mentor principles within assigned discipline.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills.
  • Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the daily technical execution and timely delivery of complete, accurate design and certification deliverables.
  • Ensure team adherence to the Design Organization Manual and compliance with Airbus Business Processes.
  • Support and implement quality, process, and business improvement initiatives at the team level.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, focusing on the development of critical technical competencies and delegations.
  • Ensure safety management through policy deployment, communication, training and risk management in line with Airbus objectives.
  • Identify and lead local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through process, methods and improvements.
