About The Position

Metro Customs Brokers, a subsidiary of Omnitrans Inc., is looking for a Supervisor, Administrative Team to join their US Customs Brokerage division. This role involves leading and supervising the administrative team to ensure timely, accurate, compliant, and client-focused support for US Customs Brokerage operations. The Supervisor is responsible for workflow management, employee development, service standards, operational controls, continuous improvement, and achieving departmental key performance indicators. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team-lead experience, preferably in customs brokerage or a regulated environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and employee coaching skills.
  • Analytical skills and ability to use KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvements.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn operational systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, service, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily activities related to statements, rejects, billing, recordkeeping, new account onboarding, and other administrative functions to ensure deadlines and service standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements, company procedures, recordkeeping obligations, and audit requirements.
  • Identify and address recurring errors and control gaps.
  • Provide operational guidance, resolve day-to-day issues, and ensure escalations are properly documented and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate schedules, attendance, cross-training, and backup coverage.
  • Monitor workloads and recommend resource adjustments as needed.
  • Set clear expectations, conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings, provide coaching and feedback, recognize performance, and address performance or attendance concerns.
  • Support employee onboarding, maintain training plans, identify skill gaps, and strengthen team capabilities through cross-training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, enhance accuracy, and strengthen operational controls.
  • Recommend process changes and implement approved improvements.
  • Collaborate with Brokerage, Accounting, IT, Client Services, Sales, and other departments to resolve issues, improve workflows, and ensure effective communication between teams.
  • Prepare timely updates on workload, service levels, KPIs, staffing, operational risks, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and support a team of 4–6 employees, ensuring departmental goals and service standards are met.
  • Assign work, set priorities, monitor performance, and address issues promptly and consistently.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, feedback, and ongoing support to employees.
  • Ensure consistent application of procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support the implementation of approved process changes and promote a collaborative, respectful work environment.
  • Protect confidential employee, client, company, and government information.
