About The Position

The Supervisor, Accounting plays a critical role in supporting the integrity and accuracy of the organization’s financial operations. This position oversees a team of accountants and is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, including quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Supervisor also serves as a key backup to core accounting functions, including general ledger, capital, and regulatory accounting. This role requires strong leadership, technical accounting skills, and the ability to manage complex reconciliations, resolve accounting issues, and lead special projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required. CPA certification and/or Master’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree in above fields will be considered in conjunction with 8+ years of accounting experience as outlined below.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a business environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with FERC accounting is a plus.
Experience with accounting research and policy development preferred.
Experience working with mid- to enterprise-level financial software, with capabilities extending beyond entry-level accounting software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, with the ability to manage and analyze large data sets effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Consistently delivers accurate, timely, and high-quality results.
Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Position is primarily sedentary. Some walking, standing, and driving required.
