Discover more at Lam Benefits Job Descriptions: Job Description: Essential Function: Responsibilities include Supervision of the activities related to the receiving, storing, and/or shipping of materials, capital, consumables and finished goods. Ensures the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or related field; or High School Diploma/Associate’s Degree with at least 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • A general understanding and responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to details.
  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to establish credibility with management, staff and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Lam Foreign Trade to be certain that Silfex complies with all company and government guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate international records.
  • Creation of standard work for various processes and adherence to documented procedures.
  • Oversee maintenance of stock and crib items through properly labeling, location control, cycle counting.
  • Provide support to value streams by auditing daily Kanban runs and delivery of requested materials.
  • Oversee the receiving and handling of bulk acid and other hazardous materials. Hazardous Materials certification will need to be obtained.
  • Maintain Shipping and Receiving SQDC Boards.
  • Ensure transactional integrity in Vantage software for outbound shipments of Silfex finished parts and inbound shipments of materials to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct employee reviews, evaluate employee performance and make recommendations for promotions and transfers.
  • Create cross training plan in shipping and receiving, including safety, quality and standard work.
  • Develop and maintain training matrices.
  • Manages department attendance and time off requests to ensure production is not negatively impacted
  • Direct team members with their assignments and expectations on a daily basis.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Seeks additional responsibilities and or projects.
  • Application of Lean Manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing
  • Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex.
  • Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is part of everything we do.
  • Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to Silfex management.
  • Wear all PPE as required by work area or job function.
  • Communication – Begin with the end in mind – Communicate boldly as well as effectively with empathy and respect to inspire teamwork and collaboration vertically and horizontally within Silfex.
  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
  • Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area.
  • Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.
