About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Supervision Associate Analyst to join their team. The Supervision group is responsible for the supervision and regulation of various financial institutions within the Twelfth District. This role involves developing an understanding of the banking industry, supervision, and regulation, sourcing and organizing data for analysis, participating in team projects, and providing general support for processes and documentation. The Associate Analyst may also support examination teams overseeing supervised entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Willingness to pursue an “Examiner Commission” issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is required (a three to five-year program).
  • Proficiency in introductory business office software.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork experience.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as curiosity.
  • Growth mindset including the desire to continuously learn.
  • Experience reading and interpreting basic financial information.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 40%.
  • This position requires access to confidential supervisory information, which is limited to “Protected Individuals.” Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, and U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so or who will sign a declaration of intent to apply for naturalization before they begin employment.
  • All final offers are subject to the clearance of an enhanced background check. This enhanced screening will require the following items: academic and employment verifications, FBI fingerprint check (criminal and civil cases), credit check, family history, residential records and foreign travel for the previous 7 years, citizenship verification, reference checks, and personal interview with an investigator and can take between 21 – 60 days to clear.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of banking industry, supervision and regulation framework and processes as it relates to the team’s work.
  • Source, organize, and aggregate data to conduct analyses as directed by senior staff and/or team lead.
  • Participate in team projects/programs.
  • Provide general support of processes and documentation.
  • May participate and provide support to examination teams overseeing supervised entities, including state member banks, foreign banking organizations, bank and non-bank subsidiaries, trust departments, and service providers, as well as inspecting financial, bank, and savings and loan holding companies.
