About The Position

Liberty Resources is currently seeking a Supervising Therapist for our Integrated Healthcare Clinic. The Supervising Therapist is a member of the clinic leadership team and provides clinical oversight and supervision to unlicensed and licensed clinicians, students, and substance abuse counselors. The Supervisor provides administrative oversight and ensures quality service delivery, timely and accurate documentation, and productivity standards are met. The Supervisor carries a small caseload and provides direct care to individuals, couples, and families.

Requirements

Current NYS clinical license required (LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT); CASAC preferred.
Minimum of three years post-graduate experience treating individuals/families with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; supervisory experience preferred.
Strong clinical and administrative supervision skills, with the ability to support staff and promote clinic success.
Demonstrated clinical judgment, initiative, and professional knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder services.
Excellent communication, computer literacy, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and identify strengths in others.
Flexible and family-oriented, with availability to work one evening per week and a valid NYS driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provides person centered outpatient behavioral health care to individuals, couples, families and when appropriate, groups.
Conducts intake assessments, including gathering data from clients, children, parents and other relevant sources.
Uses diagnostic and assessment information to develop treatment plans in collaboration with client system.
Uses clinical interventions to support and assist program participants in meeting the goals of their service plan.

Provides crisis intervention services when necessary for caseload.
Completes all necessary written reports, statistics, case files and summaries in a timely manner, and in accordance with OMH/OASAS regulations and agency standards
Documents all services in the clinic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) within established timeframes.
Supervises assigned therapists and substance abuse counselors in the day-to-day implementation of program services and provides weekly clinical supervision.
Provides group supervision for assigned staff at a minimum of one time per month.
Reviews and approves documentation as indicated by clinic policies and procedures including ensuring that direct reports make any changes necessary to achieve professional standards of documentation.
Provides a safe forum for assigned staff to discuss cases including problem-solving, introspection, managing transference, etc.
Provides supervision and support to assigned student clinicians to promote professional skill development (therapy and documentation), professional identity and ethics, on-going orientation to clinic/expectations, policies and procedures training including changes, etc.
Advocates on behalf of clients and their families to ensure adequacy of services (i.e. educational, legal and community) by providing linkages and coordination with the county providers and agencies.
Reviews and approves staff timesheets, expenses, and time-off requests, ensuring appropriate client coverage.
Reviews incident reports, promptly escalates serious reportable incidents, and provides Supervisor of the Day/Evening/On-Call coverage as assigned.
Supports staff orientation, ongoing professional development, training, and maintenance of required licenses/certifications.
Establishes and communicates performance expectations; monitors productivity and addresses performance concerns through corrective action and counseling.
Maintains accurate supervision records and keeps the Clinic Director informed of staff performance, progress, concerns, and disciplinary matters.
Upholds agency policies and procedures, maintains effective relationships with community providers, participates in required meetings and supervision, and completes other assigned duties.
