About The Position

The Supervising RN is responsible for providing medical services to individuals in Residential programs in compliance with New York State, federal, local and agency regulations. This role also involves health and safety training for agency personnel, maintaining medical records, and participating in team meetings. The position requires assessing health hazards, managing the medical caseload, and supervising RNs to ensure compliance with all medical regulations. The Supervising RN will also be involved in hiring, termination, discipline, supervision, and scheduling of direct reports.

Requirements

Licensed RN in New York State.
Minimum of 1 year experience with the developmentally disabled.
Valid NYS Driver's License
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

BSN is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Computer skills helpful (Word, E-mail).
Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills are very important.

Responsibilities

Hiring, termination, discipline, supervision and scheduling of direct reports.
Provide medical services to individuals in the Residential programs in compliance with New York State, federal, local and agency.
Provide health and safety training to agency personnel to include in home and work sites.
Record and maintain individual medical records in compliance with all federal, state, local and agency policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in team meetings/surveys as part of the individual's overall plan of care.
Responsible for assuring all communication is accurate and timely info and instruction to team and direct care system.
Pursue personal & professional development and attend mandated agency training as required.
Additional caseload coverage as assigned.
Assess for actual or potential health hazards whether physical or biological for each individual on an ongoing basis.
Ensure medical caseload & management and supervision of RN and ensure programs remain in compliance with all medical regulations enforced by local, state, federal and agency policies and procedures.
