Personalized care together with advanced technology is what it means to be Community Strong The Supervising Pharmacist works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy as he/she takes on the daily management and operation of the IV Clean Room, Evening and Night Shift (Andrus), Park Care Pharmacy as well as the Dobbs Ferry Pavilion, within the guidelines of established policies and procedures for the department and the hospital.

Requirements

  • BS in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required
  • Must hold a valid New York State License
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years hospital experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharm. D is preferred

Responsibilities

  • May be responsible for the daily Pharmacy operations of the Andrus, Park Care and Dobbs Ferry Pavilions. This includes scheduling, P.I., and all related activity.
  • Performance addresses the ages of the patients served and produces expected clinical results for clinical intervention.
  • Supervises all staff pharmacists & technicians on duty in applicable area like IV room, Evening and Night Shift (Andrus), Park Care or Dobbs Ferry Pavilions pharmacies.
  • Orients and oversees the training of all new personnel in IV room, Park Care or Dobbs Ferry Pavilions.
  • Oversees day to day operations and tries to resolve routine problems in the department.
  • Reports unresolved problems to the Director or designee of Pharmacy.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of medications in their assigned areas. Also accountable for all written policies and procedures of the assigned areas.
  • Dispenses medications for in-patients and outpatients, or IV room.
  • Directs and inspects the work of subordinates involved in the technical functions of the pharmacy to ensure accurate and timely service.
  • Monitors the environment within the pharmacy (Clean room) relative to physical appearance, safety, staff behavior and performance.
  • Regularly informs and advises the Director or designee of departmental activities and serves as a communication link between staff and management.
  • Assists and supports the Director and Associate Director in the coordination and general promotion of good will with other departments.
