About The Position

The Supervising Mental Health Counselor II - Licensed provides direct services, coordinates care for individuals, and offers leadership for the team. This role acts as a liaison with other program units within the department and with outside agencies. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating complex community agency contracts, and/or supervising staff providing clinical casework counseling and treatment. The supervisor will oversee the Older Adult Case Management unit, providing direct and clinical supervision to regular staff and extra hires. This position also serves as a Deputy LPS Conservator, offering direct services alongside case managers to individuals with severe mental illness, monitoring treatment and placement, and working towards symptom amelioration. Additionally, the supervisor provides oversight and monitors the Older Adult Full Service Partnership in accordance with BHSA guidelines and regulations. This recruitment is for one full-time vacancy, and the resulting eligibility list may be used for future full-time, part-time, limited-term, and extra-help vacancies for up to one year.

Requirements

  • Master's or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field approved by the State of California to provide psychotherapy.
  • LCSW or MFT license by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science plus two years experience providing psychotherapy services.
  • OR Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist or a Ph.D. or Psy.D. and two years of clinical experience.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
  • Maintain any required license, certification, or registration in good standing throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Equivalent of two years as a Mental Health Counselor I in the County of Napa.
  • Two years of professional mental health counseling experience with one year in an administrative, supervisory or lead capacity in the mental health field.
