Title/Role: Supervising Lead Engineer Division: Engineering Location: New York City Metropolitan area Reporting to: Engineering Manager Position Summary: The Supervising Lead Engineer is the primary engineering leader on assigned projects, responsible for coordination, model management, shop drawing production, and overall project execution. This role is the central point of contact between design teams, field operations, prefabrication, and general contractors—ensuring all engineering activities align with project schedules, company standards, and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 5–7 years of experience in electrical construction engineering or BIM coordination; supervisory/lead experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, ACC/Forma, Navisworks or Revizto, and Smartsheets
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, NEC code requirements, and shop drawing processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary engineering liaison between project stakeholders, including design teams, general contractors, field operations, and prefabrication teams
  • Lead project planning and execution by aligning teams with CPM schedules, maintaining production schedules, monitoring budgets, and enforcing project standards and procedures
  • Manage project communications, including RFIs, submittments, bulletins, site visits, issue tracking, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely resolution of engineering challenges
  • Establish and maintain project BIM environments, including Revit model creation and management, ACC/Forma administration, model integration, and compliance with company standards
  • Act as the project BIM subject matter expert, supporting critical path planning, model coordination, and technology implementation
  • Lead coordination efforts by managing clash detection, QA/QC reviews, coordination schedules, reporting, and resource allocation across internal and external teams
  • Oversee shop drawing production, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, and engineering standards while maintaining drawing schedules and approval workflows
  • Coordinate model-to-fabrication workflows, ensuring seamless handoffs between coordination and shop drawing teams to support project execution and prefabrication activities
  • Maintain project reporting systems, Smartsheets, and documentation to provide visibility into project status, priorities, and deliverables
