NYLAG is seeking a highly motivated Supervising Financial Counselor who is passionate about expanding access to financial empowerment services and advancing economic justice and financial stability for New Yorkers. NYLAG's Financial Empowerment and Advocacy Unit (FEAU) was established in 2009 to help individuals and families build financial stability, overcome economic barriers, and achieve their financial goals. FEAU provides free, high-quality counseling, literacy and advocacy services to low-income New Yorkers through NYLAG’s offices, community-based sites across New York City, Long Island and Westchester. Using a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, FEAU works to strengthen financial literacy, increase access to economic opportunities and resources, and promote long-term financial well-being in the communities we serve. The Supervising Financial counselor will work alongside the unit leadership team to oversee program operations including staff supervision and project management for initiatives in their portfolio. As a part of their role, they will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support our work with communities, track performance metrics and assist with reporting, and lead strategic initiatives in response to community and unit need. The Supervising Financial counselor will also provide financial counseling and coaching as needed.
