The Office of the Assigned Counsel Plan (ACP) provides quality legal services to indigent persons, funded by the City of New York through the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) and overseen by the 1st and 2nd Appellate Divisions. The ACP compensates private attorneys for representing indigent clients charged with criminal offenses when institutional providers have a conflict. The MOCJ advises the Mayor on criminal justice policy and implements citywide strategies to reduce crime and improve system fairness. The Supervisory Attorney for Operations will drive operational excellence, performance management, and strategic activities for the ACP, working in partnership with the Appellate Divisions and MOCJ to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve ACP operations.
