About The Position

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Supervising Access Clinician is responsible for supporting the needs of the Access team which includes unique specialties of the COTI, Residential, and Intake departments. This includes the coordination and facilitation of assessments, admission coordination, and appropriate referral. The following duties will apply: Duties Responsible for, but not limited to, providing direct diagnostic evaluative services to clients. To assess the client’s primary and secondary diagnosis and, thus, need for and modality of further treatment. Supply identified clients’ direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family and/or group therapy as needed. With self-direction and competence, carry out the Agency’s responsibilities to its clientele. Handle intake and service load with independent judgment using self-initiated consultation in technical problems of diagnostic evaluation in treatment techniques. Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency. Maintain positive and effective relationships with community groups, referral sources and service agencies. Participate in community presentations and training programs. Provide counseling to assist clients in the development of appropriate interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills as needed. Demonstrates teamwork and an ability to work in a team environment with coworkers and supervisors. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and cooperative. Responds appropriately to crisis/emergency situations in order to ensure/secure the safety/well-being of the clients. Assures all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with agency/OASAS regulations, practices, policies & procedures. Demonstrates professionalism by providing quality service and care with respect and dignity for the clients and as a representative of FLACRA. Coordinate meeting client needs through utilization of the outreach board and coordinating rapid admissions to appropriate services. Be added to On call rotation for Residential. Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Requirements

  • Masters Preferred/Bachelors Degree in Health/Human Services and three years’ experience.
  • Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
  • QHP required.
  • Education can be substituted by years of experience in behavioral health.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers.
  • Knowledge of local behavioral health system.
  • Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving and time management skills and the ability to remain calm in crisis.
