Requirements

  • College diploma in science.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Bilingualism required (oral and written communication on often technical subjects, and writing of technical procedures and reports).
  • Good computer skills, especially related to Microsoft Word, Excel, and analytical software.
  • Experience in managing technical staff.
  • Experience in a bioanalytical laboratory setting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, as well as the ability to inform, influence, convince, and persuade.
  • Demonstrates scientific problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A relevant degree may be considered acceptable.
  • Experience in Immunology and in a regulated environment will be considered assets.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, manage and monitor the activities/operations of the work unit according to the field of expertise, the work plan and the needs of the division and/or the organization in order to achieve the expected results.
  • Prepare, review and/or approve all project-related documents assigned to them.
  • Collaborate with the assigned resource manager to ensure client deadlines are met.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to laboratory personnel.
  • Interact daily with the technical/scientific team and management to establish assignment priorities.
  • Communicate necessary information to keep their team and the organization informed of their team's work plan, projects, processes, results, actions taken, and recommendations made to meet emerging needs.
  • Inform internal/external clients of the division's various areas of expertise by evaluating needs and performing analyses and follow-ups.
  • Represent their work unit, internally and externally, for consultation and/or information and/or referrals.
  • Ensure the availability of training for team members.
  • As support to the Principal Investigator of Bioanalysis, may be called upon to contribute to the development of the work unit's budget and ensure its respect, to monitor the budget for appropriate stakeholders, and to recommend actions to achieve the expected results.
  • Participate in the development and analysis of performance indicator systems for their work unit according to established objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement for the work plan and departmental processes.
  • Determine, as needed, the necessary measures to improve efficiency.
  • Responsible for carrying out activities in accordance with the company's and division's policies, standard operating procedures, and operating guides, and for carrying out other tasks assigned by management.
