The General Superintendent position involves leading field operations on complex heavy civil projects, specifically focusing on structural bridge concrete. This role is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution across all bridge concrete activities, from foundations and substructure to superstructure placements.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on structural bridge concrete
• Proven experience managing bridge projects, including complex staging and sequencing
• Strong understanding of concrete production, placement techniques, and quality control requirements
• Demonstrated leadership in safety, planning, and field execution
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all field operations for structural bridge concrete work (footings, columns, caps, decks, and closure pours)
• Develop and execute work plans that ensure efficient production, safety, and quality compliance
• Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, and subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget targets
• Oversee concrete placement operations, formwork systems, rebar installation, and curing processes
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and governing standards (e.g., DOT, AASHTO)
• Mentor and develop superintendents, foremen, and craft personnel to build high-performing teams
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve field issues, and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders
