Superintendent
About The Position
The Superintendent supervises Grounds and Laborer workers at a location and is responsible for the care, maintenance, safety, and security of employees and visitors while maintaining the property’s overall upkeep and appearance. This is a hands-on leadership role that models high standards and motivates the team to create an ideal setting for families and visitors. The role oversees maintenance and improvements across Everstory properties, including buildings, fixtures, equipment, and operations; supports and trains maintenance team members; enforces company policies and procedures; and coordinates with Sales and Administration to identify current and future location needs. The Superintendent also performs landscape and general maintenance, safely operates machinery, and installs or assists with installing cemetery vaults, headstones, and memorials as needed.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 3 years of grounds maintenance supervisory experience.
- At least 5 years of mechanical or building maintenance experience.
- Ability to supervise and train maintenance employees.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery, including a backhoe and mowing and trimming equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.

- Cemetery work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all patrons, visitors, and employees at the location.
- Maintain and improve Everstory properties, including buildings, fixtures, equipment, and operations.
- Manage maintenance team members performing work on properties, buildings, and fixtures.
- Provide support and ongoing training to the maintenance team as needed.
- Enforce company policies and procedures and coach subordinates as needed.
- Work with location Sales and Administration to identify and discuss current and future location needs.
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Maintain and operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults, headstones, and memorials as needed.
