About The Position

Our client, a growing commercial general contractor, is seeking a Superintendent to oversee the field execution of ground-up and redevelopment projects for multi-tenant shopping centers throughout Texas. This individual will manage all onsite construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. This position is based in Austin, with travel to projects in Dallas and Houston as needed. The client has an immediate need and is looking for a Superintendent who can start within 1–2 weeks and quickly assume responsibility for active projects. Strong Procore proficiency is required, while previous retail construction experience is highly preferred.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Procore (required).
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, quality control, and OSHA safety standards.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and maintain aggressive project schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Stable employment history with verifiable project references and completed projects.
• Ability to travel throughout Texas as project needs require.
• Available to begin employment within 1–2 weeks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience constructing retail shopping centers or multi-tenant retail developments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day field operations from site mobilization through project completion.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel.
• Manage project schedules and sequencing to ensure milestone and completion dates are achieved.
• Maintain daily reports, inspections, quality control documentation, and project records in Procore.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant jobsite.
• Conduct daily and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum.
• Track deliveries, manpower, production, and project progress against the schedule.
• Oversee punch list completion, final inspections, turnover, and project closeout.
• Build positive working relationships with owners, tenants, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
