About The Position

Embree Construction Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to join our team. The Superintendent position is an administrative position overseeing and administering the onsite day- to-day general operations which include safety, inspections, weekly logs, etc. of one or more construction projects, typically from start to finish of each project. Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management
  • Good plan reading and construction means & methods knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans
  • Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites
  • Thorough understanding of quality building practices
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them
  • Reliable transportation for travel to and from the job site

Responsibilities

  • Ability to travel nationwide is necessary
  • Order and coordinate necessary temporary utilities required for project at mobilization.
  • Develops a schedule for completion of an assigned project.
  • Coordinates and schedules the daily work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project foreperson to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with architect, engineer, attorney, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
  • Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
  • Coordinates with city, county, state, federal and any other AHJ’s for required inspections, approvals, permits or certifications.
  • Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
  • Maintains records related to deliveries and inventory.
  • Maintains Daily Logs to include all daily activities, weather, tasks completed, subcontractors present, inspections, etc.
  • Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
  • Holds weekly safety meetings of toolbox talks.
  • Maintains hazmat resources and safety materials.
  • Collaborates with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Create weekly “3-week” look ahead schedules with input and buy-in from subcontractors.
  • Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
