Requirements

  • Extensive industrial construction experience within oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong background in turnaround/shutdown execution with mechanical scopes
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising mechanical trades (pipefitting, welding, boilermaking, millwrighting)
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems including piping, vessels, and rotating equipment
  • Solid knowledge of rigging practices and lift planning fundamentals
  • Proven experience managing crews in fast-paced industrial or turnaround environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical work packages
  • Effective leadership, communication, and coordination skills across multiple disciplines
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to safety excellence and leadership in HSE program execution

Responsibilities

  • Lead field execution of mechanical scopes during turnaround activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
  • Supervise and coordinate multi-disciplinary mechanical crews including pipefitters, welders, boilermakers, and millwrights
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, vessels, rotating equipment, and mechanical components
  • Ensure all lifts and rigging activities associated with mechanical work are properly planned and executed safely
  • Drive daily planning activities including crew assignments, workface planning, and coordination with other disciplines
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, and site leadership to ensure alignment on schedule, priorities, and constraints
  • Monitor field progress, productivity, and performance, proactively addressing issues impacting schedule or cost
  • Champion compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and lead safety initiatives in the field
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field observations to reinforce a strong safety culture
  • Ensure all mechanical work meets quality standards, specifications, drawings, and client expectations
  • Coordinate equipment, material, tools, and manpower to meet critical turnaround timelines
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues while minimizing downtime and rework
  • Provide input into turnaround planning including scope development, constructability, and execution strategies
  • Maintain clear communication with crews, stakeholders, and leadership across both day and night shifts
  • Support reporting, progress tracking, and documentation requirements
