About The Position

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent with 5-15+ years of experience leading high-end TI commercial and entertainment construction projects. As an ARCO/Murray Superintendent, you will manage all administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations for your project from day one. The goal is to empower you in the field and provide you and your Project team with the tools needed to bring your project to completion on schedule, within budget, and per project specifications. This is a long-term career opportunity local to the Chicagoland area.

Requirements

  • 5-25+ years of construction experience
  • At least 5 years as a lead superintendent on quick turnaround entertainment or high-end commercial build outs, TIs, or adaptive reuse projects
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing or walking for long periods, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings for project information and preplanning.
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing construction schedules, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit.
  • Assist project manager/engineer in duties including prompt shipment of materials, obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective performance and integration with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports.
  • Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
  • Cooperate with the owner and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis.
  • Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or schedules.
  • Maintain a daily diary of project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program.
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Organize people, tools, and equipment; plan and manage multiple activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, facing challenges, directing others, and addressing conflict.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating and improving processes, using customer input, and meeting/exceeding expectations.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees, while focusing on meeting/exceeding customer requirements.
