Superintendent (Structural Concrete)

Our Civil Group is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent with a strong structural concrete background to lead field operations on large-scale commercial and civil construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on self-perform experience managing structural concrete scopes, including foundations, footings, walls, slabs, elevated decks, formwork, rebar installation, and concrete placement activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of superintendent experience on large commercial, industrial, or civil projects with significant structural concrete scopes.
- Proven experience managing self-perform concrete crews.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, formwork systems, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, finishing, and curing practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, project schedules, and contract documents.
- Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Nice To Haves
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Candidates should have experience leading structural concrete work such as: Mass excavations and foundations, Spread footings and drilled piers, Retaining walls and cast-in-place walls, Structural slabs and elevated concrete decks, Reinforcing steel installation, Formwork and shoring systems, Large concrete placements and pump operations, Industrial, commercial, transportation, or heavy civil concrete projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews, including foremen, carpenters, rod busters, laborers, and concrete crews.
- Oversee all structural concrete operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Develop project logistics plans and coordinate construction sequencing with the Project Manager.
- Manage concrete placement schedules, formwork operations, reinforcing steel installation, pump truck coordination, and material deliveries.
- Ensure quality control throughout all phases of concrete construction, including layout, rebar inspections, embeds, and concrete pours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors.
- Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance on site.
- Support Project Engineers with shop drawings, submittments, RFIs, and field coordination.
- Resolve field challenges by collaborating with engineering teams, inspectors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate subcontractors and self-perform crews to maintain project schedules and productivity goals.
