About The Position

Join a federal construction contractor supporting a United States Air Force Base renovation project at Columbus AFB in Columbus, MS. This opportunity provides leadership responsibility as a Superintendent, Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), and Quality Control Manager (QC Manager), providing complete oversight of field operations, EM 385 safety compliance, and quality management throughout the conversion of an aircraft hangar into an aircraft wash facility. Candidates must be capable of managing field operations, safety compliance, and quality control responsibilities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • EM 385-1-1 Certification
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Certification
  • Previous Triple Hat Experience (Superintendent / SSHO / QC Manager)
  • Experience on Federal, Military, USACE, NAVFAC, Air Force, or DoD Construction Projects
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 Safety Standards
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Construction Quality Management (CQM)
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense Construction Requirements
  • Working knowledge of USACE / Federal Construction Projects
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Quality Control Programs
  • Working knowledge of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) Development and Review
  • Working knowledge of Subcontractor Coordination and Oversight
  • Working knowledge of Site Safety & Health Plans (SSHPs)
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Working knowledge of Construction Scheduling and Field Supervision
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Working knowledge of Project Documentation and Compliance Management
  • Demonstrated experience successfully serving in Superintendent, SSHO, and Quality Control roles on military or federal construction projects
  • Ability to maintain full compliance with EM 385-1-1 requirements
  • Ability to effectively manage subcontractors
  • Ability to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Ability to proactively identify and mitigate project risks
  • Ability to safely deliver the aircraft hangar conversion project while meeting schedule, safety, and quality objectives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Superintendent, SSHO, and Quality Control Manager for the duration of the project
  • Provide daily oversight of construction operations, subcontractors, and project execution
  • Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements
  • Lead daily safety meetings, inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Review and approve Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Monitor quality control processes and verify compliance with project specifications
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and maintain project schedule objectives
  • Manage project documentation, inspections, testing requirements, and closeout activities
  • Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions when required
  • Maintain daily reports, QC documentation, safety records, and project logs
  • Act as the primary field representative for safety, quality, and construction execution
  • Promote a proactive culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and project success

Benefits

  • Per Diem: $130/Day (7 Days Per Week)
  • Completion Bonus: $150/month
  • Overtime: Paid After 40 Hours
