About The Position

Site Superintendent role is combined with Quality Control Manager. This role provides daily onsite oversight and direct day-to-day management and supervision of construction activities, subcontractors, quality, and safety. Responsible for providing response and management of contractors, consultants, and interfacing with clients as a representative of the of the company. The individual must ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract documents, period of performance and within budget.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Required Certifications: OSHA 30
  • Minimum of five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience in construction project management
  • General knowledge of federal contracting processes, practices, requirements, and guidelines for construction projects.
  • Strong familiarity and implementation of OSHA 1910/1926
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with proposal development and estimating.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to read prints, plans, schedules, and inspections.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills required for communication with client, management and team members.
  • Strong computer skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc), Procore and RMS.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to interpret and understand instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to manage and supervise others.
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to document issues and resulting resolutions.
  • Navigate time constraints and complete deliverables on time.
  • Be effective in a high-stress environment.
  • Organize/perform/assign work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form· Learn and evolve new methods and systems.
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required base or project site access; U.S. citizenship is required for NASA site access, as applicable.
  • Must be able to work a schedule that aligns with project requirements and operational needs, including extended hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends, or other non-standard hours as necessary required by the project needs.
  • Must be able to travel as required to support projects and company operations, generally up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-bid project analysis, identify project planning concerns, identify solutions for site utilization concerns, and provide outsourcing for subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, etc.
  • Project planning for sequencing, addressing potential issues, mobilization prep, schedule development, developing scopes of work for subcontracts, and material procurement planning.
  • Manage subcontractors/consultants, material tracking, site utilization, coordination, schedule implementation, develop look ahead schedules, conduct required meetings, contract deliverables, inspections, daily field reports, project communication, project reporting, client interactions, recognition of project scope/gaps/overlap, and potential differing conditions.
  • Implementing quality control requirements, procedures, and documentation utilizing the USACE 3-phases of Construction. Recognize and stop non-conforming work with the project requirements and ensure corrective measures are taken on time.
  • Adhere to and implement Aleut's safety standards and project-specific safety requirements. Ensure that required reports and documents are completed. Any unsafe work must be stopped immediately, and all incidents must be reported.
  • Ensure that contract requirements for project inspections, acceptance, commissioning, record documents, training, etc. are completed. Take proactive steps and actions to minimize project risks.
  • Maintains regular contact with Project Manager on project updates.
  • Participate in weekly internal coordination meetings and meetings requested by cleint
  • Maintain daily field reports for labor, equipment, materials, schedule progress, and photo
  • Prepare and provide any additional reports or submittits as required by contract or customer.
  • Review subcontractor schedule of values for pay applications
  • Ensures program compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide proper flow of communication from upper management to team members and vice versa.
  • Perform duties, responsibilities, assigned tasks with minimal direction over oversight.
  • Work with other departments within the company and business units as required.
