Requirements

7+ years in piping fabrication/installation for commercial mechanical projects
3+ years supervisory experience
High school diploma or GED
Piping fabrication/welding techniques
Blueprint reading
Pressure testing
Team leadership
Scheduling
Quality control
Safety management
Material coordination
Basic computer for documentation

Trade certifications (e.g., welding, pipefitting) preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise fabrication, welding, assembly, and installation of piping systems (e.g., carbon steel, stainless, copper) per blueprints, specs, and codes.
Manage shop and field crews, including scheduling, material staging, and tool/equipment readiness.
Enforce strict safety protocols, conduct daily hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure PPE compliance.
Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, and project managers for sequencing and conflict resolution.
Perform quality inspections, pressure testing, and documentation for handover and compliance.
Troubleshoot fabrication/installation issues, optimize workflows, and minimize waste.
Mentor pipefitters, welders, and fabricators on best practices and safety.
Lead and mentor piping/fab crews (fitters, welders, apprentices); oversee performance, training, safety, and productivity.
