The Superintendent II (Project Lead) at Skanska USA Building is a field leadership role focused on managing construction operations, implementing strategy, and driving short-term project results. Reporting to the Senior Superintendent, this position requires regular on-site presence to oversee work, monitor progress, and participate in production, safety, and supervisory meetings. It also includes leading a small to mid-sized team and providing input on hiring, performance, and rewards decisions. This role places strong emphasis on safety, quality, schedule, cost, and subcontractor management. The Superintendent II is responsible for ensuring compliance with Skanska’s EHS program, managing contracts and vendor agreements, developing logistics and sequence plans, monitoring project costs and pay requisitions, and overseeing subcontractor performance. The position also requires ownership of schedule development and management, along with coordination of plans, specifications, and preconstruction planning to keep the project on track.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Substantial relevant construction leadership experience
  • Safety and QAQC leadership
  • Fit-out or area leadership on larger projects
  • Change order management
  • Subcontractor oversight
  • Schedule updates
  • Reading plans and specifications
  • 5+ years of being a Safety and QAQC Cultural Champion
  • 8+ Years of proven construction experience
  • 5+ years effectively coordinating subcontractor activities
  • 3+ years experience helping to create a master schedule with a scheduler and managing the schedule during construction
  • 3+ years experience with planning a project and creating logistic plans
  • 2+ years experience with reading and understanding plans, specifications and subcontractor contracts
  • 2+ years experience with mentoring and managing other Superintendents
