About The Position

RSCS is a Full-Service Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Construction and Service company, servicing 10 states across the western USA and in business for over 25 years. We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Superintendent / Foreman to lead our traveling Refrigeration Construction and Pipe Crew. This is not an entry-level position — only candidates with strong mechanical contracting leadership experience, refrigeration construction knowledge, pipe crew experience, and the ability to lead hands-on in the field will be considered. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading crews, coordinating job site activity, supporting pipe fitting and welding operations, reading plans, communicating with project leadership, and working alongside the crew when needed to keep the project moving forward. This role requires the ability to adapt in the field, solve problems, manage priorities, and represent RSCS professionally with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal team members.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of leadership experience in the Mechanical Contracting Industry
  • Refrigeration construction experience required
  • Pipe welding experience with carbon steel and stainless steel
  • Experience with small bore to large bore pipe sizes
  • 6G position welding experience
  • Stick and TIG welding process experience
  • Strong pipe fitting and layout skills
  • Rigging experience
  • Ability to read plans and drawings
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong organization and job site coordination skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Dependable, hands-on, self-motivated, and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel on short notice
  • Willingness to travel for up to one month at a time, with expenses covered by the company

Nice To Haves

  • Refrigeration and ammonia systems experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading refrigeration construction or mechanical pipe crews
  • Strong background in industrial refrigeration, ammonia systems, food processing, cold storage, or manufacturing environments
  • Safety-minded and able to maintain crew accountability
  • Professional communication and strong follow-through
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a traveling refrigeration construction and pipe crew
  • Manage project momentum from beginning through execution to help meet deadlines
  • Coordinate daily job site operations, manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and project priorities
  • Work hands-on with the crew when needed to keep the project moving forward
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Support pipe fitting, pipe welding, layout, rigging, and refrigeration system installation
  • Coordinate work involving carbon steel and stainless steel pipe, small bore to large bore pipe sizes, and related mechanical systems
  • Communicate project updates, labor needs, material needs, delays, and job site concerns to project management and leadership
  • Adapt to field changes and help resolve job site challenges as they arise
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site
  • Ensure work is completed according to RSCS quality standards, customer expectations, and project requirements
  • Provide leadership, direction, accountability, and support to crew members
  • Work professionally with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and RSCS team members
  • Support project closeout, punch-list completion, startup coordination, and turnover when applicable
